I am trying to ping a custom made API after a purchase event in my store. i need this POST request to fire after checkout but i get the SSL error. I dont necessarily want to do the work to make the API endpoint secure, i wonder if theres a webhook or api service that could act as a proxy? or is there a way to do it with the current url?

See below for my script and the error

This is an accepted solution.

You can certainly deploy an app proxy for the Shopify store. But if you are managing the final destination for this mechanism you will need to a) ensure it's HTTPS/SSL, and b) ensure it's observing at least TLS 1.2 or higher. Otherwise the same results will happen...
