Handling One-Time Payment Cancellation For App

Hi guys!

So I was submitting my app and got feedback that I had to lead the user back to the payment page for charges if they cancelled their payment. However, my app is a one-time payment application that allows all users to use it for free with limited access until they pay.

I asked the Shopify app reviewer about it but they weren't able to provide me enough information before asking me to post here.

How should I handle this case? Seems a little counter-intuitive if my free app forces people to pay once they've clicked on the "payment" button once. If they cancel, they should be able to use the app as the free version still, right?
