How Proration is applied in Recurring Application Charge

While upgrading/downgrading plans who handles proration of charges.
Is it calculated and settled by Shopify API Or Do we have to create a new recurring charge with the prorated amount?


If we are upgrading or downgrading plan and if the prorated charge is less/more than the actual upgraded/downgraded plan charge then what should be the price for the new recurring charge. If we set prorated charge instead of actual(new) charge then the recurring charge will be created with the prorated charge. how should this be handled?


Is there any API for updating price OR everything is handled by the Shopify API while upgrading/downgrading plan and we just have to a new recurring charge with new price?
