Issues with objects since forced development store password

I am building my first new store since Shopify introduced the forced password on dev stores. Using accentuate I am trying to retrieve a page or object data but failing to do so, the app is suggesting this is because of the password, which I now can not remove.

Does the storefront password actually block access to object data? Shopify's solution is that I have to pay to get around the problem, which I understand is not a great deal of money, but I think is not acceptable just to build a feature for a client.

I have contacted Accentuate support and am waiting for feedback, which I suspect is that they have little control over this. Shopify will not remove the password for this store, so it seems my options are I have to purchase the store in order to finish building certain features.

Anyone had this problem?
