Multiple subdomains for a single app

When merchants load our app we redirect them to our authentication endpoint. We then figure out which verison of the app they are using and redirect them appropriately. 

Our new Polaris release needs to be hosted on it's own subdomain. As it has an entirely new database schema and API.

When I use the EASDK and have forceRedirect enabled Shopify always rewrites the subdomain back to the App Url listed within our Partners app settings page. For example: https://app-polaris.myshopifyapp.com/dashboard would redirect automatically back to https://app.myshopifyapp.com/dashboard. 

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this work?

I'm new to app development, Do you need to buy additional hosting for your app or you can host your app on shopify hosting? which comes with basic shopify plan.
