No phone number for order

Hello 

Using the API. I am importing from a list of customers, some don't have phone numbers. Unfortunately when I go through the create an order process, it asks for a phone number. This value can't also be static because it throws a number not unique error. Is there any way I can import this list without a phone number?  Address and name are unique

Hello, 

Thank you for the reply. I managed to sort this issue, by removing the phone number from customer, but keeping it on the address. As the address information does not require a unique phone number, like the customer does.
