Rails API: Updating collection losing images

We're facing an issue where when we load a collection via the API, change the sort order and save it, the collection image is getting lost at times. Attached is a video recording of the issue where it works the first time and fails the second time. We're using version 5.2.2 of the Shopify API gem.

How do we get around this?

I'm able to replicate on the latest version of the gem, please raise an issue in the shopify_api repo.
