We have our application in Shopify.

We install our code in theme, and we use include tag mostly.

But as per Shopify’s recent changes in liquid tag they are deprecating include tag and introducing new render tag.

You can read about the update here →

We are updating our code for new merchants.

But I am curious to know how we can update our old merchants code from include to render?

Yes it is feasible with writing script to update all the themes in all merchants which have our code but it will take more time to write script and then run it.

How you guys are planning to update it?

What’s your thoughts on this update?

Hey @milindpatel,

With this change, Shopify will require all new theme and app submissions to use this new render tag instead of include. This change will increase performance for apps and themes that use it, and will be the default for all apps and themes after Feb 17th, 2020. Even though the include tag is being depreciated, there are no plans to remove the functionality from the platform, so all apps and themes currently using it will continue to function.
