If you are not already aware, you can check the Shopify Status page to see how our APIs are performing and to see if there are any incidents that may be effecting Shopify's performance. As of right now however, there are no reported incidents. As well you can also view the Developers Changelog to see if there have been any new changes to our API or our developer products. The last change however was on October 1st, and it was the inclusion of the GraphQL bulk operations feature.
If you are still experiencing very slow usage with our API, could you please provide the 'X-Request-ID' header from your API response? From this we can investigate the logs to see what might be slowing your API call down.
