read_publications scope is not a thing?

I am using productCreate mutation from 2020-07 API. Product creates fine but it not visible in online sale channel. So PITA.

So I need to do some skullduggery with publications? How awkward. Ok. So I want to get the publiction ID of online sales channel, but I cannot because I do not have permission. But I cannot set that permission I need because? It does not compute?

What is going on here? How does this publishing work?

Apparently, this is not ready for prime-time. You can only do the grimy old published: true attribute and you'll see your item in the online store. The secret sauce for other functionality is not mentioned in the new API code, but they do talk of publishing statuses as draft, active and archived. So hopefully we can really do and see it it all soon!

I may be mistaken but since no one at Shopify has replied to this topic much, we can only assume it is coming real soon now!
