I'm new to shopify and i have question about the rules regarding app development.

Is it against the rules to build an app that allows stores to accept payments from a provider that is not listed on Shopify ?

Hey @FareedMN ,

It doesn't appear to be, but if a merchant isn't using a Shopify payment gateway, their customers will have to go to another site to complete checkout. This can cause increased cart abandonment. See the article Shopify has regarding third-party gateways here.

Thanks for your replay! it was very informative.

Since i'm using node.js  i don't have to redirect the users to a different website, i can simply open a popup window for them to complete the on the same page.

As long as this is allowed it will help me a lot.
