Combine Multiple SKUs into Single Product

Hi All,

I am looking to combine multiple SKUs within my store into a single product (i.e. subscribtion box). That said this product needs to be available for one-time purchase and compatible with our ReCharge service as well like every other single product. We tried a product bundle app but that did not work how we need it to.

Essentially, we need this product to act exactly like any other single product but contain multiple SKUs and reflect thus on inventory/analytics with each item in the pack.

FYI website is: primalgoodsco.com

Is this possible?

A single product will not contain multiple SKUs in Shopify.
You need to look into how it's best to manage this. I see these common approaches:

  1. When the box is added to the cart, it actually adds the contents - not the box.
  2. The box is added to the cart, and optionally details about contents stored as line item properties.

#1 makes inventory easy to manage. Requires some theme mods to add the feature.
#2 is neater since it's one product, but will require that you have additional logic in place to:

  • keep inventory updated should the contenst of the box also exist as standalone items in the store
  • expand that single item come fulfilment time.

There are apps that can help with the logic in #2.

I jump on these forums to help and share some insights. Not looking to be hired, and not looking for work.

Don't hand out staff invites or give admin password to forum members unless absolutely needed. In most cases the help you need can be handled without that.

Hi Jason,

Thank you very much for your response. Do you happen to know of an app that would help with the logic in suggestion #2?

Thanks,

Hi Jason,

Solution #1 is what we are looking for. Are you able to develop that feature for us ?

Hi Scott,

You can give Connected Inventory a try.

It is feasible to configure the app to deduct the multiple SKU's inventory when the single product is sold.

Hi Cesar,

Thank you for your reply.

How is it possible to show the child sku in the order (single line) for fullfilment purpose?

Nghia,

No, the app cannot do this.

You can consider to add the SKUs in line item properties so that it can show on the order.

Hey Jason,

I have a similar issue.

My issue is that I have my main product, the alkaline ionizer v10+ base which comes with a base that it attaches to for it to work. So I have technically 2 products & two different SKUs when someone makes a purchase. However on Shopify it only shares 1 SKY to fulfillment. I want to see how can I make it so it sends two SKUs without the customer needing to add both products separately into the checkout (or if that's just a mod, I'd love for it to do an automatic addition to the checkout). As it's a finalized product as a V10 (top piece) & a base (bottom piece).

I've looked into bundles apps to see if that works, but currently my fulfillment company is saying the inventory will always be wrong overtime if it sends 1 SKU to his software & we are sending 2 SKUs out.

The product page is this https://acqualive.com/pages/v10

You will be able to see what I mean as I have clients choose which base they want as a variant. I guess it worked when we weren't doing decent numbers, but now we want to professionalize our backend

Let me know if you can help me with that or my way around that!

Talk soon,

Renato

Use combo wise app. Here you create artificial product based on two separate product you will create in Shopify as hidden but will accommodate into combo product which basically a combo product when customer add to cart he is basically adding two separate product so when he checkout you will receive order for both components sku and hence fulfilled the order. Dear combo wise very easy and plenty of option to fix the price and so on.
