Deleted app still operates on my site!

Hi. I have used two cookie apps on my site. Currently I am using GDPR Cookie Compiler. The previous one is deleted (cannot remember the name) but the code must still exist on my site as visitors see two Cookie bars when arriving on the site. Can anyone tell me how I can remove that unwanted code?

Hi @jasonholt,

Nick here from Shopify.

I spoke to the theme support team about this. They mentioned if you are using an app from a third-party developer such as GDPR Cookie Complier your best bet is to reach out to them to remove it. The reason for this is that the app developers would know more about their own code than Shopify or a third-party theme developer.

You can reach the GDPR Cookie Complier team at or from their website here. They should be able to identify where the code is much faster than anyone else and help you get this sorted out.

Hope this helps!

All the best, Nick

Hi, Jasonholt, Sorry, I can't help you with this question. But I'm curious why you choose one GDPR cookie app and remove another one? We developed an app called EU GDPR cookie bar. So whould you like to tell me what do you care about the most for a GDPR cookie bar app? The below is our function: Notify User of Cookies on Site Show your customers that the site uses cookies by banner, users will feel that they are respected. Increase their favorability of your site. Avoid Paying Penalty Charges The EU GDPR Cookie Bar informs the customers that you are using cookies, so you don't have to worry about paying high penalty charges. Cookie Consent Banner Present customers a banner asking for their consent for the cookies used on the store. Full customize of the bar types.
