My client is considering switching to Shopify, and I am testing to see if it will work for them. They carry hundreds of products. Some are stocked in-house, and others are blind dropshipped. They would like a solution where purchase orders are generated for each order, and then e-mailed to the supplier(s) for that order.
In addition, they need to be able to set up complex shipping rates, so that each product can be assigned to a supplier, and be charged live shipping rates based on the supplier's shipping address. If a customer orders multiple products, the shipping rates should be displayed as one combined price at checkout. There also need to be multiple shipping options (e.g. USPS and UPS) for each supplier.
I think we will most likely need two different apps to accomplish this, one for the purchase orders and one for the shipping. I would love any suggestions that will help me narrow down which apps to test.
Hi, I think you have already installed my app Simple Purchase Orders but if not it can definitely meet your shop's needs.
It allows you to set up suppliers and import products and set cost prices. You can then automatically generate purchase orders from orders your customers make and it will import all of the items they order and their address and email it to your supplier. It can also handle splitting orders into multiple POs where the items have different suppliers. This should help you reduce time spent fulfilling orders and eliminate mistakes.
Please check it out and let me know if you have any questions.
