I make and sell women's handmade fabric handbags umpiehandbags.com
I linked up the Shopify Google Shopping App 64 days ago. It's all set up correctly showing my SEO Product Titles and all my products have been approved, I only have set a small budget of £100 per month as I don't want to spend too much until it shows it works for me. So far I've had just 1 sale of £105 after spending £230! My products are unique in that they are handmade and are only available in very small quantities so I'm thinking maybe Google Shopping is not the right place for them as it's not so easy to get across uniqueness and rarity in the small snippet Google Shopping shows. Or is my budget just too low? Anyone else selling handmade items with success on Google Shopping? Thanks Joanna
Google Ads and Shopping has many moving parts and has a lot of influences.
First I recommend you check the search terms report to see what types of keywords you get listed. Remove any that are irrelevant.
As you are making handmade products, how reputable is your brand? Do people know it and search for it? If not then you need to make sure that the search terms your ads trigger are relevant. For example try only to match for handmade handbags.
Then once you are more profitable expand your reach.
Trying to let Google Ads do the work for you, will not be successful. You need to carefully structure your campaigns and also do not use smart shopping as this is only intended for if you have 25 sales in the last 45 days. And remarketing needs to be setup.
Also check what you competitors are doing, if you see they are very active somewhere, then in most cases it will work for you too.
There are hundreds of things you need to do, but the most important for any new business is to make sure you target the right type of people.
Hope this helps.
Your spending $100 but no search terms, that would not be possible. Every click shows a search term. So if you can't see search terms in your campaign. Then you are using smart shopping, and you should not use that as you need 25 sales in the last 45 days.
You can follow the instructions here: https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/3455481?co=ADWORDS.IsAWNCustomer%3Dtrue&hl=en&oco=0
Hope this helps.
Yes, while simplicity is great, and smart shopping will work in certain situations. You need to always start with getting data, especially sales tracking for smart shopping to work.
Now that you have a standard campaign, you can exclude search terms you don't want to target and manually bid. Remember it requires more maintenance, and you need to check at least once a week and improve the campaign.
Kind regards, Emmanuel.
This is Vinod here. Trust you are doing good, i saw you website you have great products wish you success for your business.
It is not the scenario of Google Shopping App. Its all about detailed and manual optimization with different strategies time to time if you want to run ads in Google Ads. If you go in for manual ad optimization and detailed optimization i'm sure you will get great sales keeping in mind ROI too.
Let me know if you really need assistance in growing your online sales from your store https://umpiehandbags.com/
I would love to increase sales of your store keeping mind ROI and Conversion Rate Optimization.
Your daily budget is about (100/30.4) 3.3, so sometimes only a one click can cost that much. I would recommend to spend at least 8 per day to see any results. Because Google makes an auction for each search and only the ads that have enough budget will display. If you want Google Shopping to show your products and acquire traffic to the website, you will have to spend more to see any results.
Ask me if you will need any additional information.
How you doing with your ads and sales now??
One thing to be taken into consideration, I can see Google AdWords code installed multiple times on the store. May be it's because of any advertising app you've used like ROI hunter or so, they create AdWords code automatically and the other one may be the manually implemented code.
And regarding ads try spending £8-10 on daily basis. And the Google Shopping App only creates Smart Shopping campaigns, wherein you just need to add the budget and rest all is managed by the app. As already conversed in the chat thread regarding the search terms, it's great that you are up with a standard shopping ad, wherein you'll get the search terms for which your ads are showing up on Google.
Also, handmade items are great for selling on creative marketplaces like Etsy.com. If you're not already an Etsy seller, then give it a try. For further queries you can reply to this comment or connect over Skype at: live:manisharautela_1... I'd be more than happy to help.
