Hello, @PlugnGo !
Karlie here from the Shopify Guru Team! You can actually create an automatic discount from within your Shopify Admin that would allow you set a discounted price for an entire collection in your storefront. The automatic discount can be scheduled as well, so you can set the discount up and allow it to work it's magic. To create an automatic discount from within your Shopify Admin, you will want to follow our handy help guide, here!
Another option would be to use an app. There are quite a few apps in the Shopify App Store that would provide your storefront with the functionality you need. Specifically I would suggest looking into the apps; Discounted Pricing - Discounts, Bold Discounts and Automatic Discount.
I hope this has answered your question. If not, or if you have any further questions please let me know. I will be happy to help!
Thanks for your reply.
Not quite what I was looking for but I do want to also have automatic discounts. It's kind of disappointing that only one automatic discount can be programed within shopify at a time. Is there an app that will allow you to run more than one automatic discount at a time?
Back to my original question. I'm looking for a streamlined way of updating my promo sales. All of the apps that I've found let you schedule sales but they're all bulk edit type apps that force you to apply a percentage off or fixed price off to a whole collection. I have collections that have varying amounts of discounts. Applying a sale price and entering a schedule for each product individually with the shopify apps that I could find are very time consuming.
I'm migrating from woocommerce and I use the PW Woocommerce Bulk Edit Pro plugin. I still have to enter all the prices individually but they're all in rows and columns on one page. I can set the sale dates in bulk though with. It is very nice plugin to use for such a thing but I can not find a shopify app that comes close to it's functionality.
Is there a way to sync up a csv file and set a schedule for it to update product pricing in shopify?
Hello again, @PlugnGo!
Karlie here! What you could actually do is use the bulk editor which is built into your Shopify Admin. The bulk editor will allow you to adjust your sale pricing in columns, like you had explained you were doing with Woocommerce. Check out our guide to see how you can use the bulk editor from within your Shopify Admin to adjust your pricing.
The bulk editor works in realtime, so you can't schedule price changes. However, it does look like the Bulk Discount Manager & Sales App and the EasySale app would allow you to schedule sales for your storefront. Feel free to give those a look through and if you have any questions about the app, then you can reach out to the app developer by using the Support section found on the app page in the Shopify App Store.
My name is Alison, I'm the Customer Success Specialist for Ablestar apps. I think our Bulk Editor app (https://apps.shopify.com/bulk-product-editor) will do what you need, and it also has a free version that allows for 5 free in-app edits and 5 free spreadsheet edits a month, so you can try it out without incurring any charges (as long as you stay under the edit limits you would not incur any charges at all).
Using it, you can upload spreadsheet that contain the price changes, and you can schedule both the edit and the undo of the edit for the start and end of the sale. You can read more about spreadsheet edits with the Bulk Editor here: https://support.ablestar.co/category/4-spreadsheet-edits.
We also have an app for migrating form WoooCommerce called the Woo Importer (https://apps.shopify.com/woocommerce-importer).
Please feel free to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Thanks that looks like a good app. The in app editing to run sales is almost useless because of the way shopify handles sale pricing. Also the in app edit wont let me edit the price of multiple products individually. I don't understand why you need to change the original price field to the sale and put the original price into the compare price field. That's so counter intuitive and causes more work. Shopify needs to rethink that one. End of my rant.
I think the way to go is using a spreadsheet to update and schedule sales. The inventory sync looks nice also. Do you provide support with getting inventory sync setup if I were to choose to go that route at some point?
