We use retail barcode app from Shopify to generate barcodes for our in-store displays, but when we try to use Google Shopping app it is syncing that barcode data as the google GTIN or UPC which obviously kicks back the product (incorrect upc, gtin) Has anyone had a way to fix this?

Simple, don't submit the bar code. Only bar codes from the manufacturer can be submitted. Self generated bar codes are not allowed.

If you can't set it up via your app, you can use feed rules, and set GTIN to clear. More info: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/7450276?hl=en

So we went into our Google Shopping > Feed > Created a Rule

We set GTIN as " " on our feed and ran a test. It came back as all disprove because GTIN Value is empty value

What is the correct value to put on that rule? is it "clear" as you mentioned? " " is not working.

You need cancel the data source and click on add modification and set it to clear.

Also remove brand and mpn values

And set identifier exists to no

Then process the feed.

Hope this helps.
