Shopify App Listing review: Key Benefit images rejected for text that isn't there

Hi Shopify Community

Our Shopify app submission was rejected, in part because of the following reason:

To be honest, I don't see any text in the images we uploaded for the key benefits section. I've added the images we used below. Can anybody give me some feedback? I'd not want us to get suspended for our app being rejected to many times over a reason that seems a bit unfounded.

Best,

Jonas from POP

The reviewer was listed as 'App Scanner' actually.

Weird, you normally get a reviewers name.

Maybe they are starting to automate it? You should be able to reply to the email stating the images don’t contain text.

Well, the email clearly states:

We’ve not had that at all and our last app was published last month, so this must be a very new process. They should probably communicate changes to the review process with partners.

Surely, it must give you some next steps?

Try contacting them via email or live chat through your partner account if there is no way to respond to the email.

Thanks for your feedback! I was hoping this post would help me get in touch with someone at Shopify who has more knowledge of the review process, but I'll try the channels you suggest, as well.

No problem, thanks for sharing your experience of the review process.

The most effective way to get support is by creating a support request through your partner dashboard. I’ve found direct messages on Twitter to be helpful sometimes too. The forums are more community based.

In any case your images look fine. I’m sure it’s an error on Shopify’s part, either human or automation.
