Mr. Arigato is a great substitute for the native Mailchimp app. It's fully aware of all Shopify data and is more powerful than the original Mailchimp app.

Well, this is certainly very interesting.
Our app Recapture (https://apps.shopify.com/recapture-abandoned-cart-and-email-marketing) allows Shopify merchants to continue to integrate with MailChimp if they want, not relying on Shopify's integration at all. For those that want to continue to capture emails and send newsletters or other automations, we can help with that.
But if you want to move off them, we support a lot of what MailChimp tries to do now: abandoned cart flows, review reminders, email popups and winback emails. Not as heavy as Klaviyo. Friendly for non-technical users.
That's probably the real answer we'll see as Shopify merchants and partners 12 months from now. Shopify acquires or builds its own email marketing tool as a native integration. However, its hard to displace entrenched ESPs unless all their data is easy to access. Mailchimp is saying Shopify wanted unnecessary data on marketing performance and history. Guessing that your question is the real cause these two are breaking up.
When your prices are exorbitant in the first place...you kinda need to discount. I prefer straightforward pricing that never changes for anyone, at any time, for any reason. In my experience, consistency is kinda nice.
