Update cart total problematically

Hi,

I want to update cart total after my custom ajax response.

Actually I want to add a custom coupon code field on checkout page and that coupon code will be verified on third party site and which will return the response on checkout page after then I want to update the cart total according to response.

So anyone could help me achieve this ?
