Adding Gift Text Box on Checkout Page

Hi All! 

I'm trying to add in a gift text box (or special instructions), on the checkout page, but I'm unsure what code to use, or where exactly it should go. If anyone could help guide me please, I'd very much appreciate it! I'm using the Debut theme.

checkout page customization allows to only Shopify plus plan do you have this?

but do you have box so it's already theme allow to cart page

Ah thank you! Unfortunately I am only on the Shopify Basic package for now until my business grows  

May I ask if you know if any apps can help with this, if I'm not able to do it on my package?
