I use only the Paypal Payment on this website: http://vectorian.myshopify.com/
Problem is:
Customers cannot apply a discount in the cart, which is very confusing for them...
Every cart system allow to use a coupon in the cart.
As I'm using only paypal, they cannot apply the coupon code, they don't event know if it's possible, before confirming the payment via paypal...
Then after that they are redirected to Shopify where, finally, they can apply the coupon.
That sucks... I'm sure a LOT of my customers will abandon the purchase,
because they will never take the risk to confirm paypal payment before seeing they can apply the coupon.
So:
- Is there any valid reason Shopify do it like that? It reduce a lot the benefit of proposing discounts
- Any workaround or application to fix it?
Thanks!
Vincent
Thanks a lot for this answer!
Too bad that there is no solution. Cannot understand why Shopify do that way and I will ask them.
Do we know if this has been resolved yet? I want my customers to be able to apply in cart as well as we want to calculate donation amounts based after discount deductions..... ?
This is UTTERLY BAD. This should be a top one priority, because has PLENTY OF VALUE for your customers. I am really considering changing system.
I agree, this totally suck.
Coupons are an absolutely necessary tool to improve sales.
I contacted every guy I could a Shopify, even Tobi, the founder.
Actually Tobi was nice enough to answer me, but they didn't do anything.
They just tell me that I should use another payment system that Paypal... When not everybody live in USA and get easy acccess to stripe...
The sad thing is I am using their systems with stripe etc. I am not using Paypal or any other merchant, I am using their reccomended merchants...
I need to calculate donations after discounts.... Sad shopifyer here :(
