Blog Layout/Acess in Venture Theme

Good evening. I'll try to make this as descriptive and simple as possible.

Theme: Venture

What I WANT: On the homepage to click "Tails From the Trails" and be taken to a new page with an "About" at the top describing our blog and then the blog posts in a grid below. 

What I HAVE: You click "Tails From the Trails" and get a drop down (I nested it in the settings because I couldn't achieve the desired format above). Within the drop down is the About section (a totally different page now) and then the first blog post. 

Online Store>Pages: Tails From the Trails is a page which is the "About" for the blog.

Thanks for any help. Hopefully this is enough info, if not I can provide more.
