Change Debut dropdown menu to Brooklyn dropdown menu

Hi, how do I change the dropdown menu in my debut theme to look like the dropdown menu in the Brooklyn theme?  I tried to do it but I couldn't get the menu completely transparent and the sub menus to drop vertically like in the Brooklyn theme.

The first image is the Brooklyn theme and I want it to exactly like the first  theme here.

this is the debut which is what it looks like now. I want to change it

The second image is debut theme and I don't the look of it with the white background.

By default debut theme has a normal menu but as this horizontal menu there for that please check the menu setting in admin.

Did you install any app for the menu ?

no, I didn't install any app

@dmwwebartisan I checked the admin but I can there no where to change besides coding . I want the drop down to be vertical and then hoover over for more options like in the Brooklyn theme.
