Create AMP page (Accelerated Mobile Pages) on Shopify

I want to implement Google's AMP on Shopify. The speck and docs can be found here: https://www.ampproject.org/

Inorder to implement it, each time the store owner publishes a blog post or article I need to generate an HTML page with the AMP HTML tags and link that page to Shopify blog template.

The question is, can Shopify generate a custom dynamic page on the server. If the blog post link is myshopify.com/blogs/news/16808980-first-post I would need to generate something like myshopify.com/blogs/news/16808980-first-post-amp.

Thank you.

The question is, can Shopify generate a custom dynamic page on the server. If the blog post link is myshopify.com/blogs/news/16808980-first-post I would need to generate something like myshopify.com/blogs/news/16808980-first-post-amp.

This example would not be possible. If you did create a new article for the AMP it will have a different starting number that correlates to the new article. You'll never have two articles with the leading 16808980.

In addition, creating a new article in the same blog would then make it appear on the blog page. You'd need some way to be able to hide those from view (which can cause issues with pagination).

If the AMP url is able to be totally different I suppose you could have an AMP specific blog and just hide thse articles in there. An app would be needed to do the auto creation.

The AMP page can have any URL, it does not care. The issue is creating a new page. How complex is an Shopify APP that creates a new page on the site server? I have no experience with this. Can you please point me to some resources?

Thank you.

I've learned more on the Shopiy platform in the last few months. Now I think that is doable using an alternate template without theme. The URL will be dynamic, something like ?view=amp, but should be np issue cause there is a special rel link that defines the AMP page and that can be included in the article template.

Wish I had time to do it and test it out

The future is coming and Google is pushing AMP.

According to Google “ AMP is a way to build web pages for static content that render fast.”  to mobile devices.

Being a new store I’m trying to produce content to attract visitors, I see all my traffic coming from mobile devices.  Slow uploading will cause the user to go elsewhere, I do.

I’m trying to learn how to use AMP on my site, after going to https://www.ampproject.org/ , I'm still very confused.  Is there an expert in the community who can help me my pages?
