Creating a blank page for landing page (Brooklyn theme)

Hello! I'm interested in creating a landing page for my site. However, I realised shopify's HTML pages will automatically link to their original template. How do I create a new fresh blank HTML page?

Please go to online store -> theme -> edit code -> templates -> Add a new template -> select page from dropdown -> Give name of page
Then
Please go to online store -> Pages-> Add page -> Fill all the details -> Select that page which you have created just in Template suffix dropdown
