I write personalized poetry on a typewriter at virtual events. Once the event is over, I photograph the poems and email a digital copy to the recipients. I'd like to be able to offer it to them online on my website. So the recipients would go to a page where all the events will be listed, click on their event, find their poem and download it. I've seen other event entertainers do this via dropbox, but I'd rather keep it on my site, and offer share buttons as well. Any thoughts on how I could do this? Many thanks! If it's freely accessible you'd add it to your stores files admin and use liquid to add them to a page on your store, or in customers templates if at minimum they need to sign in.
If this is purchase based and limited to specific customers , and you need to limit access to the files,etc etc.
Then do this with either with shopify's digital downloads, or a third party like send owl.
With shopifys method you currently need to link them to the thank you page to redownload.
sendowl has some ways to add the link to the customer templates.
Not sure about your workflow though as basically both systems require an order to made to create the customer, store the order and assign the download to them.
And typically the download is a pre-existing asset, so possibly you'd need to test the editing flow to update orders or the assets with the new photographs.

Then either adding the direct urls to the relevant page templates , or making some liquid code to use the file names
