Hey there, @Orchids

Bo here from Shopify Support!

That is a really great question. If your domain was bought through Shopify you will find this by going to Online Store > Domains and then clicking on Manage beside the domain in question. From here you will see the option to access your DNS Settings.

When verifying your domain with Google Search Consoles we would recommend verifying by meta tag as opposed to going down the domain route. It has proven to be much easier. You can read up on this method here.

Let me know how this goes and if there is anything else I can assist you with, I'm happy to help!

All the Best,

Bo

Hey there, @Orchids

That looks fine to me, were you able to verify this with Google? Just as a tip, you will need to make sure your password page is disabled in order for Google to be able to verify your domain.

All the Best,

Bo

Hi Bo,
I am having serious difficulty with the same thing as I have my own domain name and Google will not verify using the metatag method. Please help as I desperately need to get my site indexing properly, thx

Hey there, @HotRockOpals

Apologies for the delayed response - I was out of the office. Is this still an issue that you are facing? Can you send me a screenshot of the error in Google and a link to your store? Is the password page still active?

All the Best,

Bo
