Debut theme product page dropdown and thumbnail images

Hello, So on the product page there is the dropdown with the color variant. When choosing a color the corresponding image changes to the correct color.

BUT when using the thumbnail the dropdown does NOT change. This could potentially cause an issue when a customer checks out and the wrong color is added. How can I fix this so when the thumbnail is clicked the dropdown changes to the correct color?
