HTML error in Debut theme when adding products

Hi,

I have the following error in my Debut theme but I'm not sure where it came from.  It appeared when I added my first product....

'HTML error found. Broken HTML has been detected in your theme’s slideshow.liquid file. Check that there are no missing or extra HTML tags present.  If you haven’t made changes to this code, contact support for help resolving the issue.'

Please can you help me figure out what has happened?

Many thanks,

Gemma

Hey there.  This often happens when a Div has been put in the wrong place, or some CSS is not closed right.

If you want to provide your .myshopify.com address I am happy to send a collab request and take a look for you free of charge.

Best Regards,
Duncan.

Going to be honest.  This threw me for a bit of a loop.  Tried a few things only to realize your file is identical to mine on my store.  It was not the slideshow.  Your Featured Collection section was the buggy one.  You chose a collection with no products in it, and the theme did not like that.  Which in turn was passing bad code down the line into the slideshow.  By Removing the empty collection and instead telling it to use the place holders, it removed the error.  Since I did not request product/collection access I was unable to make a test product to verify if this error will come back again.  If it does come back when you have products and collections made right, I would reach out to Shopify Supports theme team to take a look as to why the theme is bugging out on you.  But based on what I can check for, We just had to tell it to use the placeholders instead of the empty collection.

Best Regards,
Duncan.

No worries Gemma.

There used to be a Twisted Grip Pole Class here locally.  Is your business related to any Twisted Grips in BC Canada Past or Present? :)

Best Regards,
Duncan.

Hi Duncan,

Nope, not related.  We're based in Australia :)

Thanks again!

@Misfit_Code_Dev

Hi, would you be open to looking into my error? Out of the blue without any changes to my knowledge I am receiving two "HTML error found" notifications..

I have spent the past 3 days trying to figure out what has changed in the code but I do not see it. Would you mind taking a look?

This has been happening to me also. I've spend 3 days trying to figure out what is going on. I'm using Oberlo to import products, I've even tested with a few different products just to see, with no luck. Does anyone know what I can do?
