Header image for Blog home page - MINIMAL THEME

How would I go about adding a header image to the home page of my blog? There isnt a "featured image" option for the blog itself, only artilces.  Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi Floyd!

If you have a photo you want to use for this, upload it to the Files section in your Settings. We will need to use the URL to custom code the theme to show it. After you have done that, here are the steps:

• Visit your theme file by going to Online Store > Themes
• On your active theme, click the [...] button, and select Edit HTML / CSS
• We will edit the blog.liquid, under Templates
• You can place the following code on Line 2, so the image shows at the top of the blog page before the header.

  <img src="IMAGE_URL_HERE" style="width:100%; padding-bottom:25px;">
  

  As you may have guessed, you will need to replace the FILL_URL_HERE with the actual file URL from your Files section.

• The styling added here will have it take up 100% of the page width, excluding the standard margins. Also, I suggest the 25px of padding at the bottom to keep the spacing between elements consistent. You can change this if you'd like!

Thanks Hugh! We're starting to develop a new pickle language as an upgrade from liquid, but this will have to do until it's ready. It worked perfectly!

This code was super helpful – unfortunately, now the blog header disappears on individual blog posts. (see attached)

Any help (ASAP) would be much apprecaited!

Hello - you should edit the article.liquid (or article-template.liquid depending on the theme). 

A blog post is called an article in Shopify.
