Hover Issue in Shopify Venture theme

Hi,

I was following a YouTube video to show second image on hover in the venture theme. However, after adding the code, the hover functionality works on the main header menu bar from way below what it is supposed to.

In the photo I have highlighted the area, wherein if my curson moves to the encircled area also, the dropdown gets activated.

I can't understand why this is happening. Is there any way I can solve this issue?
