I want to add on each collection page, different banner images just below the header that highlight each collection's offerings. My default setup is an up to 10 image slider on the home page, but no such selection offered for the collection page nor individual collections page's.
If anyone out there has any pointer, that would be great. I know basic HTML and CSS, but am new to liquid.
The site is: NeotericFurniture.com
The Password is : shop321
I am trying to do the same thing, add a banner to each different category page just under my header but cannot find out how to do that.
in the shopify manual link above it mentioned to add it under the category page and the 'featured images' upload.
this is not working for me. The image seems to upload to the backend but not his displays.
likewise when I insert an image into the description section here too…. it uploads a mini version of the image and displays this tiny image - not matter what the dims of my uploaded image are.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I think I figured it out.
Under Products / Collections / (name of one collection), you will see an area for the title of that collection and the description. Above the description you'll find icons for text, formatting and (wait for it) images.
Click the image icon to add a photo.
Also looking. Nobody seems to be replying to this
Solved problem, unless details have been omitted, search the forums: https://ecommerce.shopify.com/ecommerce/collection-image
From myshopify.com/admin/collections select the specific collection, then on the righthand sidebar there is a literal spot for the collection specific image.
If there is an image there and it doesn't show on the frontend, then the theme in use isn't coded to display collection images.
Under Products / Collections / (name of one collection), you will see an area for the title of that collection and the description.
This is to put images in the Collection-Description which can create display issues(read wreck the layout) if images are not manually entered in proper fashion(SOP) and does not give as much flexibility elsewhere in the theme,or with apps.
..then where it says theme suffix change it to "collection.image".
Currently this ONLY applies IF the theme has alternate templates otherwise this feature DOES NOT APPEAR https://docs.shopify.com/themes/customization/store/create-alternate-templates
