Hi.
We've got very long stories/descriptions for our products. So we we're planning on trimming it, show only some of it shows up on the product page. I'm planning on using the method Caroline describes here: http://forums.shopify.com/categories/2/posts/35343
We would like to be able to shown the full text somewhere, like having a read-more link on the product page. If possible, we would also like if the user could stay on the same page. I am having this picture of the website greying out and an image/article form showing ontop of the website. If got no idea what this is called or if it's possible, so i'm having a hard time finding similar things to learn from.
Any suggestions on how to tackle this is much appriciated :)
Best regards
Anders Hansen
Found a solution here: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/library/x-ajaxxml6/#list4 -> Scroll down to figure 6
Having problems implementing it though. Working on it currrently.. will update here with any progress.
When inspecting my page I see that i'm getting the following error:
"Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) - prototype.js"
I'm using the following to include the file:
{{ "prototype.js" | shopify_asset_url | script_tag }}
And the file is uploaded as an asset.. any ideas? I'm completely blank.
As always, any help, pointers and just suggestions is most welcome.
It's hard to help without a link/pass to the frontend of your store Anders. I can tell you that the error is because your personal uploaded assets are at asset_url not shopify_asset_url. What theme do you have? Are you sure you need to add another library to you site? You may already have jQuery installed and don't need another lib.
Ahhh yes of course. Sorry I didnt include that. Code/Link are below.
I'm using the Solo theme, and yes i have jQuery installed. I'm quite new at this, so wasnt even aware it was another library.
I'm trying to create a text lightbox, trying to use lightbox.js, which I found at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/library/x-ajaxxml6/#list4, got no idea whether that's compatible with the jQuery library... Will keep working on it :)

Thanks for pointing out the part about using shopify_asset_url instead of asset_url, and for taking the time to help me out.
I've found jQuery tools, which has some awesome overlay effects. I'm trying to implement one of their base ones, as a test.
Can be found here: http://flowplayer.org/tools/demos/overlay/apple.htm
I can't get the .css file to work properly though, it gives me the following error: Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token . - overlay.apple.css
I've uploaded a screenshot aswell.

Any pointers or suggestions would be most welcome, i've got no idea what to do :)
