Modify Search Field for Customer list

I've edited my code to include a custom field for Customers as an Alias, I am unable to search for the "Customer Note" Field when creating a new order, can you tell me how I can include the Customer Note: "Alias" in the customer list when I create orders I can easily search them by their Alias on file?
