Multilingual Shopify (MANUAL translation)

Hi all,

I am planning to launch a multilingual Shopify store - English, Japanese, Mandarin. The contents will be translated manually from English to Japanese and Mandarin. That is, we’re not planning to use any plug-in or auto-translation apps. Some questions regarding this:

1. Is it possible to create a multilingual Shopify store that has a single URL? And then a suffix for each language? i.e., businessname (dot) com, and then /Japanese /mandarin

2. Also, is there a way I can manually translate the contents of the Shopify store? As I have said, I don’t want to use the built-in translation apps.

I've been reading on this since yesterday, and it seems like the only option I have is to use a plug-in. Anyone knows of a workaround?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi,

I have developed themes and apps to support multi-languages. Just buy my themes, you will have a FREE lifetime to use my app to translate the theme, product, collection, page, blog, payment gateways, shop meta title, shop meta description. You can handle the translation manually, my app is not using Google Translate. You can check one of our demos for multiple languages https://bt-woodstock-watch-demo.myshopify.com/ and our themes at https://boostheme.com/category/best-shopify-themes . Currently, Woodstock theme supports multiple languages, and we will update this feature for Shopcast in this month. View this page https://boostheme.com/themes-documentation/boostheme-toolkit-app to know how my app translates your site.

I hope this helps!

I had the exact same question. I need to translate manually to ensure that we meet legal requirements for what we sell. How can I get around this?

SHOPIFY SUPPORT: Do I need separate domains for each language in each country? Seems unnecessarily burdensome!!
