Navigation Menu - avoiding list menu

Hello there,

I was hoping for help with my navigation menu.

I would like all my menus to fan out at the top and display  more user friendly (im not to sure what this is called) 

Instead all my menus are listed like lists (picture below) and I’m not to keen on this design.

Is there a simple fix like a settings button, or can this be easily done in liquid?
