Paypal express Checkout

Hi Elle!

I want them not to show on the cart page.
and also I think they should show on the cart > information page as express
checkout? I think they were there before.

And oh yeah, I'm trying to get rid of the <hr> element below the headers in the Brooklyn theme editing this in the theme.scss file:

h1::after, h2::after {
content: '';
display: none;
margin: 20px auto;
border-bottom: 3px {{ settings.color_borders }} solid;
max-width: 500px;

With display:none I got rid of the h2 <hr>, but h1 is still there.

I'm a bit confused with the different headings, rte and whatnot, but what I'm trying to do is style or delete the header text <br> in the header section! Also - is it possible to set the set the length of the <br> to the text? Like a proper text underline.

the url is lesartsnoirs.com
thanks!

Hi, @Pelle

Here are the steps to add the buttons to the first page of the checkout:

  1. In the Sections folder, click cart-template.liquid. If your theme doesn’t have a cart-template.liquid, then click cart.liquid in the Templates folder.

  2. Find the following code and delete it:

    {% if additional_checkout_buttons %}
      <div class="additional-checkout-buttons">
        {{ content_for_additional_checkout_buttons }}
      </div>
    {% endif %}
  3. Click Save to save your changes to the file.

The additional checkout buttons now appear on the checkout page instead of the cart page.

In regards to your second query, I will need to loop in our theme support team directly for further assistance. Can you let me know why you are trying to accomplish this and if it's okay that I reach out to you directly via email? Thanks!

Cheers,
Elle

Thank you Elle,

That worked perfectly!

About my second question, I managed to comment out all <hr> elements in the end.

What I meant was is that I wanted to style the <hr> as a fat underline, as a design element.

But the <hr> would have to be dynamic and the same length as the text div.

I'm not sure if this is possible, or maybe there's an easier way.

It's not very important, but if something comes to mind, yeah please send me an email!

Thanks again

Pelle

Hi again Elle,

I  noticed now that the express checkout buttons don't show up on the mobile checkout page.

Not sure if I need to look someplace else for that code?

Hi, @Pelle

Thanks for the context! I will loop in our theme support team to see if they can assist with the header! They will also be able to help ensure that the buttons are appearing properly on mobile.

I'll be in touch via email soon, keep an eye on your inbox!

Cheers,
Elle

Hi Elle,

I followed your instructions which worked to remove the express checkout buttons when going from cart to checkout.

However, if the user clicks to go straight to checkout (without going to cart first), the buttons appear again.

Please can you advise how this can be fixed? I placed

.additional-checkout-buttons {    display: none;
}

 in theme.liquid

Hi, @sgr !

Can you change your code to this:

{% comment %}

{% if additional_checkout_buttons %}

<div class="additional-checkout-buttons">{{ content_for_additional_checkout_buttons }}</div>

{% endif %}

{% endcomment %}
Let me know if this helps!

@jewall , you likely removed some code that was not supposed to be removed. Can you please roll back your theme file to the version before you made the change? You can follow these steps here.

If you're using a Free Shopify theme, let me know if you'd like our theme support team to assist with the change.

Hi @Elle Many thanks for the suggestion.

I commented out said code but this didn't have the desired effect. The buttons started showing up again on checkout both when you went to cart first and if you went directly to checkout.

@sgr That's interesting!

Can you please share your URL so I can take a look at your store?
