Product with multiple variants and different prices showing sale icon

Hi,

I am creating a bookstore and there are different variants for every product (ie. hardcover, paperback, etc.). When I uploaded the CSV with this information, the products show up on the site with the little SALE tag on top. These products are not on sale, but I read that Shopify does this because I have various prices with each variant. Wondering how I can work around this, and only use see the SALE icon tag when a product is actually on sale, not when it just has different prices.

Thanks!!!

Hello,

My name is Alison.  I am the Customer Success Specialist for Ablestar apps.  In Shopify, any product that has a 'compare at price' that is larger than the 'price', it will show as on sale.

In the CSV file you posted some of the compare at prices are fill in, this is whats causing them to list as on sale.  How it displays is determined by the theme, so you probably could edit the theme to get rid of it also, but this is standard behavior for most themes.

If the 'compare at price' is equal to or less than the 'price', it will show as normal price.

Best,

Alison

Hi, yes of course you can fix this issue. i think you have made the csv file with the products and variants in the wrong format. you have to make the csv file with the shopify specified format. Any way this can be fixed by editing variants on shopify backend manually or you can edit them in bulk using some apps to customize the product page with different product options. i would recommend Bold product options or infinite product options. there are free and paid apps as well

Thanks so much for the response. I've attached an image of what the CSV currently looks like - might you be able to point out what's wrong? Thanks!!

u can hide this by removing this tag when u goto online store-select current theme-edit languages-filter it by typing "sale". then remove that sale text from that column where its showing the tag
