Recalculate price of product in cart

Hi everyone,

Im currently trying to implement a feature for a client where the price of a product changes based on the total cart amount.

For context, he would like to add shipping insurance as a product and recalculate the cost as a percentage for the total cart amount.

Is this functionality possible to implement? He also does not want to use an app  to implement this type of thing.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

I think I figured out a solution to this. 

Instead of recalculating the price of the shipping insurance in the cart, I would create variants of the shipping insurance and remove and add the insurance based on the total cart price. 

I think I'm on the right track here and have part of the functionality working, but if you think there is something I'm missing I'd love to discuss it!
