I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to fix this multiple <title> tag issue on my site. I used an SEO analyzer and it tells me multiple <title> tags were found, mostly for the word 'icon' which is not my target keyword and they're all for icons used around my site. Below is a list of titles found by the SEO. There are a total of 61 icon titles. stellarfields.com is my site thanks
Hey A L,
Do you have a site link that you can share along with the theme in use? Without more information there's not a lot that the forum members are going to be able to help with.
It's also possible that snippets of code will be needed, but we'll cross that part when we get to it.
That's interesting. I don't see the same thing on the later version of that theme (blockshop right?) so perhaps this was fixed in a later version. It doens't look like something that should be that way on first glance.
Since those are right after the <body> tag it should be easy for you to find where that code is coming from. If not in theme.liquid check out whatever snippet exists around that section.
If you find it and want to delete the extra title tags please do it in a theme copy first - just in case you break something.
Which version of the theme do you say its fixed in? My site is currently using version 3.0.4. I believe there is a new version 3.1.0 released on 24th June. I thought this issue might have something to do with the extra html or custom CSS codes I added but the issue still remains when I remove my edited codes. Do you think the issue was related to the original code of the theme itself? thanks
It could be your custom code - that really depends on what changes you've made. I just looked at the theme store and viewed the current version shown there. So either the theme has been updated by the dev to remove that - or you've added custom code that's made those changes.
What's important to note is that it's not invalid code even if your tool is reporting an error. A SVG element can in fact contain titles. You can see an example of that here:
You'd add the title for accessibility.
