Sass files loading in "Customize theme" but nowhere else

I'm in a process of migrating older theme to use sections and use slate. I'm migrating it to use SCSS instead of css as well. Problem is that it loads the SCSS perfectly fine in "Customize theme" but neither slate browserify nor theme preview load it and just give me 422 for the files.

I've already tried cleaning my caches, using different browsers and opening it in incognito mode. Same problem everywhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Tom

So at the moment I just use workaround by adding the same hardcoded url as in customize theme.

I've just ended up having separate file for my own SCSS modifications. Most likely all of the errors came from previous stylesheet because there was quite a few syntatic errors like missing semicolons etc.

As noted here, if your SCSS compiles correctly in the Customize Theme Page but nowhere else, check that you have @charset "UTF-8"; at the top of the file. This is what fixed the issue for me.
