Shopify theme formats change even after backup / duplicate published!?

Hi there everyone,

I have recently uploaded some code for a pricing table (see below), which I removed & re-entered my own version, & then after I noticed a change to my sites formatting.
I have included a few screenshots to illustrate the main changes below (the error / issue then how it was before).

I tried to go back to an old theme backup / duplicate & published that but the issues where still present!?
Now I have been creating videos on my site plus plenty of screenshots in the last month & the theme backups / duplicates are over 2 months old!? So i was more than a little confused...

I then tried to inspect the code on Chrome & Firefox plus reviewed android & IOS devices & the changes are different but mostly present.
I also inspected the theme demo on shopify to compare but with little success.

The first thing I noticed was the * page-width {margin: 0, auto} * had somehow changed (the left & right "auto" feature of margin) & had increased the left & right margin of my site.header (please see the images 3. for more details - as you can see the alignment of my menu icon moves in regard to the "about us" text).

I noticed a bunch of differences but mostly around the stylesheet. For example for the menu icon, * button {webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased} * , also * webkit-mode: horizontal-tb *
& :focus {outline: -webkit-focus-ring-color auto 1px} & on Chrome {outline: auto 5px}

But this was all above my head as im a bit of noob.
So far I believe the issue lies within the code I uploaded. Particularly this code

.background::after {
  content: '';
  background: #60a9ff;
  background: -moz-linear-gradient(top, #60a9ff 0%, #4394f4 100%);
  background: -webkit-linear-gradient(top, #60a9ff 0%,#4394f4 100%);
  background: linear-gradient(to bottom, #60a9ff 0%,#4394f4 100%);
  filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient( startColorstr='#60a9ff', endColorstr='#4394f4',GradientType=0 );
  height: 350px;
  left: 0;
  position: absolute;
  top: 0;
  width: 100%;
  z-index: 1;
}

But truthfully im clueless.

My plan is to contact you fine folks & see if I can get any responses plus shopify support, although so far they've been of little help.
I also plan to open a new store with the same theme & add my pages plus a little theme.sccs.liquid code to see if i can identify the issues.

Any help / support or brainstorming would be so very much appreciated as I've piled alot of energy & time into this site.

Kind regards,

: Paddy

Hi there,

Little update. I have created a few new accounts, trying a few different things.

When I upload my backup the problem persists, even an old backup.

If I copy & paste just my theme.sccs.liquid there is no problem.

Not a clue then where the issue is. Here's the latest image to show how it should look.

Update:

In the end, no one cud figure out the issue. Not Godaddy or Shopify...

When trying to explain the situation (again) to a Shopify support team member (who cudnt understand the situation), i removed the domain again & the site went back to normal as i expected.

What wasn't expected, was when i re-added it afterwards, the site didn't change!?

So the site is suddenly as it should be!

Not a clue what was messing it up...but it's back to the standard formatting!
Can't find out what happened but hey.....it looks good now & I live in hope it that it doesnt change again....what a relief!
Woop woop!
