Hi guys.

Spent months crafting this amazing shopify site and it's time to launch it but turns out it is slow as hell to load. Chrome inspected and found the TTFB was above 10+ seconds while browsing through different links on the website. Website is here .

I have tried a lot things but nothing seems to fix the issue.

Some one please help or at least direct me at the right direction. TIA.

Google PageSpeed Insights results isn't bad, actually, so I would assume that the 10-second delay is on your end and not on Shopify's. Site loads very snappy for me too.

Can't confirm this, all collection and product detail pages load very snappy for me on first load.

Thank you Thomas for your insights, but I just heard from a colleague that the collection pages are loading depressing slow , he said

clicking on the collections from the home page took 17 seconds to load.
Is there a way to debug the TTFB using chrome inspector or any other tool, as that might be very helpful in figuring out this issue.
Thanks.

If TTFB is really the issue and the problem is not on your end, there's not much you can do about it, as that depends on Shopify's servers or the CDN you're using. I would assume that if it's not your machine/browser, it might be the CDN. It's probably best you contact Shopify support.

mageworx is also slowing things down.  I have multiple mageworx files loading on your page, the main one taking over 6 seconds.

Hi Misfit_Code_Dev,

Thanks for helping me with this issue, I can only see one instance of the mageworx script getting loaded {% include 'mw_fees_objects' %} and it is at the end of body tag.

Can you please tell me which mageworx files loading on the page or where and how how i can see them so that i can debug them.

Ill be back on my computer shortly. Chances are only one is in your theme like you said, but that one is more than likely pulling others from their server. Its pretty standerd for apps

The site is loading faster for me now so might have just been a hiccup at the time.  This can happen with lots of apps since it pulls from 3rd party servers.  If one of those servers hiccup, all stores using that app have a chance to hiccup as well.

Google Speed test is a Great site if you are using a stranded website.  You are not.  You are using a eCommerce website that requires more to run than your average site.  In addition your using pass which then pulls data from other servers which you can not control either.  I use google inspect, I look at live load times.

After writing the above I re-loaded and it was slow again.  This time from an Order Limit App.  https://shopifyorderlimits.s3.amazonaws.com/limits/ruggedww.myshopify.com?v=48i&r=20190412155540&sho... took 11 seconds to load.

Apps can be AMAZING.  They can do some really wicked things.  But they can also cause issues.  When ever possible I code in what I can so its not using 3rd party code.  In the case of MageWorx and Order Limits, your pretty much hand tied to either use an app or nothing at all.  In theory order limits _might_ be able to be coded by a Partner/Expert.  Not really my Domain, I am more of a build a section kind of guy.

Best Regards,
Duncan.
