Venture Theme slideshow overlap

Hello all,

We are NEW.  Coding is still a complete foreign language.  I have 2 questions.  

1. One of things we like is the slight overlap of the first section below the slideshow.  Our page does not have that overlap.  How do I get back?

2. How do I change the font of certain sections, or text, without changing the font of the whole page?  And how do I use a font that is not in Shopify?

can you please share a further issue screenshot?

I think I figured it out. I was using a setting in the slideshow to size
all the slides by first image. When I changed it to "Large", it looks just
like it is supposed to. BUT, what size do the images have to be to not be
cut off???
