Hi Guys,
My score on google is very bad because my site has horrible performance on the mobile (https://loja.klab.tv). It is too slow. I have already reduced a lot of the home page content, compressed all the images and nothing make it improve. I don't know what to do anymore :(

Can anyone help me?

Thanks a lot!

Your site looks pretty good to me. Google PSI is a general tool that knocks off points for the use of 3rd party apps or template style sites. Most Shopify sites get a low score. PSI score does not equal performance so no worries there. Use it as a guide but focus on actual performance rather than chasing a score.

That being said, I saw a couple minor improvements you could do. I ran your site through the Shopify Analyzer, a performance analysis tool I built specifically for Shopify sites. Here's what I found:

1) Lazy loading

There are 8 images on your home page that are not being lazy loaded. They look like smallish images, so I'm guessing you're loading placeholder images (and then lazy loading in the larger image after scroll). If that's the case, you can fix that by using "true lazy loading". Reference about lazy loading for Shopify here: https://speedboostr.com/shopify-lazy-loading/

2) Scale images

That leaf background image is loading at 999px on mobile screens. That's a lot of extra size / weight loaded unnecessarily. The best way to solve that is using an html element called srcset. This allows you to load different sized images depending on the device the user accesses. For example on screen size 320px you could load 320px image (or 640px if you want to sacrifice performance for retina display resolution)... and on 1200px display it can load 1200px. Typically you set about 5 or so breakpoints to cover the major screen ranges.

#1 should help the most because you'll save requests + weight.

#2 in your case will help a little

Joe,

Thank you so much for your time! I have ZERO code knowledge :(, but looking into the files of my theme, it seems that it already has the lazy load built-in, but for some reason, it is not working on the announcement banner and on image collections. Probably is a bug on the theme. I'll contact the developer, so they can help me and correct it. Similar issue with the home banner, it has an auto-size class but is not working properly.

Thanks!

If the images are above the fold (viewable area when accessing the page), they shouldn't be lazy loading (and won't show up in analysis tools).

If you have lazy loading set up in your theme and are still getting warnings, it probably means either:

a) It's "placeholder lazy loading" instead of "true lazy loading"

b) Images are coming from a 3rd party app

For autosizes, there are infinite size possibilities, it's usually a matter of preference on size vs speed. The fundamental point on that is that image sizes should never be more than 2x the width of their container.

Hi, Renas,

This is Song Fei from Giraffly company which develops apps for Shopify. It seems you already did a lot to increase page loading speed.

Here is another train of thought. We developed an app called  Page Speed Boost

It uses the cheating latency which helps you preloading a page right before a user clicks on it. There is a time between a user hover the mouse over a link and actually click on it. That time is so quick and people won't even notice while our App detects and takes good advantage of that time and do a just-in-time preloading for that page. So when you click on that link, that pre-loaded page opens instantly. This principle works on mobile as well, as when a user touching a link and before releasing it leaves PageSpeed Boost a good time to preload that page.

And you can see more instruction here: Page Speed Boost. It's an amazing app!
