Hey there, @topchoises

Bo here from Shopify Support!

I took a look into this for you and it looks like the issue has been resolved:

Did you do something to solve this issue or has it resolved itself? If you are still seeing the issue, it is likely a localized issue, in cases like that I would recommend clearing your cache

Minor issues with a theme such as this can often be resolved by rolling the affected theme file back.

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.

  2. Find the theme you want to edit, and then click Actions > Edit code.

  3. Under the Templates header, search for image-with-text-overlay.liquid.

  4. Click Older versions next to the .liquid file name.

  5. Click the drop-down menu to select an older version. Clicking a datestamp will roll the code back to that saved version.
  6.  Click Save and see if the error was fixed.

All the Best,

Bo

Hello, I also use brooklyn theme and have a similar problem here:

1) "add to cart" button is inactive and when I press on a cart icon it doesn't open anything

2) "checkout" button give this pop out box saying "checkout unavailable"

I didn't change anything in a theme myself. I had a last order on January 7th when everything worked out well apparently. I noticed that since January 8th one app  made ~21 changes to the theme.

I have read similar threads here and this is what I did:

1) tried to add to cart and checkout with a different theme - works well on Iphone, but not on MacBook. Tried with a different browser (Chrome) on MacOS - worked out well, but it doesn't work with Windows on a different computer

2) I tried to Roll back the cart.liquid in theme and cleared the cache, but nothing changed.

Is there anything  else you could advice to do? If there is a problem within theme's code, I'm not good at coding at all..

Appreciate any advice!

my shop url is:

Hey there, @Simosia

Taking a look at your store I was unable to replicate the issue:

Were you able to resolve it since? What turned out to be the issue?

All the Best,

Bo

Hi @Bo, thanks for taking toms to look at it.

No I wasn’t able to resolve it, I just switched to the theme copy I made in August (apparently this theme doesn’t have the issue), as I’m in the middle of marketing campaing on social network, so I needed it to work. But I’d still like to use the newest version, because there were certain changes made since August and I cannot recall them all.

I will switch the theme with the issue, would appreciate if you take a look again .

Thanks,
Simona

Hey there, @Simosia

I would like to take this to our theme team for a look. To do si I will need to authenticate you as the owner of the account. I will be reaching out to you via email to do so. If you could respond to the said email and name the theme we need to look at "Brooklyn Broken" or something to that effect, that would be fantastic.

All the Best,

Bo

Hi, the same is happening to me.

I am still in the free trial period but almost done finishing my website.

Before I was able to add all the products to the cart with no problem. but i must of clicked somewhere and now the same message appears on every item I try to add to the cart:

"There was an error while updating your cart. Please try again"

Can someone please help me as I am still pretty new to all this and don´t know a thing about coding.

Thank you

Hey there, @Pipizinha

This could be an issue with your browser or cache. Could you try replicating the issue from incognito mode? If you are unable to replicate this issue in incognito mode it is an issue with your browser's cache. You will simply need to clear your cache to resolve this.

Let me know how this goes and if there is anything else I can assist you with, I'm happy to help!

All the Best,

Bo

Hey there, @Essance

Thank you for getting in touch. Could you please give me some more context on the issue you are currently experiencing? Is this error occurring on your Shopify store or on an external site where you are using a Buy Button? If you are experiencing this issue on your Shopify store please answer the following questions:

  • When did you notice this problem occurring?
  • What theme are you using?
  • Have you made any coding changes to your theme or add any apps recently?
  • Dows the error occur on the product page or the cart page?
  • Can you send me a screenshot of the error and a link to your page?

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Bo
