Abandoned cart email when all items have been made 'unavailable'.

A customer left an abandoned cart but indicated payment at a later date.

There is no provision to 'hold' items in an abandoned cart so
I made all items 'unavailable' in my store.

If I send a cart recovery email will the customer still be able to complete
the purchase if the items are 'unavailable' ( but still in stock ) ?

This is an accepted solution.

Hello @JHS

The checkout is independent of the online store and as long as the items are still in inventory, the customer should still be able to checkout.

Another option, if you would still like to have the items available to shop but reserve the inventory that the customer wants only, is to create a draft order based on the abandoned cart and reserve the items for the customer until the promised pay date. Email the invoice to the customer and tell them when they are ready they can use this new checkout link so that the items are reserved for them.

Thanks MelsMojoBob.

I thought of making a draft order but sending the recovery email is just easier.

Thanks for clarifying things.
