Hi,
I am very new to Shopify. I would like to expose a custom field or attribute of my products on the actual product page.
Say I was selling TV's and I wanted to display fields on the product pages for specs like Resolution, Aspect Ratio, Inputs, etc.
So these fields won't be drop downs like the traditional color, size, style etc. that shopify automatically comes with... it will be more like just a text value stored on the product in the admin panel.
Thinking on my feet, I went ahead and created a Custom "Property" on my product in the admin panel called "Dimensions" like seen in the image below:
Then I went to the front end expecting my "Dimensions" field to be displayed with my nice 10"x10"x10" but there was nothing. See below:
Nothing... why doesn't it show up? How do I add this custom property to my product pages?
Thanks for any help!
Custom fields are called metafields in Shopify. There is an app called meta tagger that will give you access to create and edit these: http://apps.shopify.com/meta-tagger
There is a less robust free app for this as well: http://metafields.heroku.com/
you can always download a metafields app.
youll be able to create custom fields for public and/or private.
you can the use https://apps.shopify.com/specification-charts to display the public custom fields on the product pages as displayed in your example.
