Hi all, very new to this!
I am currently trying to edit my csv files so I can enjoy the flourish of having all my products added into my inventory in one go. However, I have realised that I have erroneously tagged several ( a LOT!) of my products and am wondering if I have to edit each variant's tags individually or if I were to edit the tags on the 'master' product line that that will do the job?
Any assistance/suggestions/advice will be greatly appreciated!
I understand that you have added wrong tag entries in the initial CSV file that was used to bulk upload products. You can remove the entire tag entries or bulk edit the correct entries using the steps mentioned in the URL https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/productivity-tools/bulk-actions (using this tool you would still need to do the manual correction of tags) Or you may re-upload the entire list using the corrected CSV file. You may use the export/import option mentioned in the below URL to export the current list and then import the corrected CSV file.
Thanks for responding to my query!
What I wanted to know is whether or not I had to edit every variant's tag in my .csv file or if by editing the master product tags that it would then automatically reflect for every variant and they would all have the same tags (which is what I want). Am I being a bit more clear here?
Yes, Changing the tags in the Parent/Master Product entry will reflect on every Variant of that master product. You may first bulk remove the tags using the bulk actions option in the Shopify admin area and then export the store data as CSV to add the required tag entries.
